Of course, O’Neill was not an ordinary middle blocker, as she never came off the floor for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller. Regardless, her assertiveness behind the line was rare for the middle blocker position, and it was one of the many factors that led the Mustangs to a historic state title.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller’s strength is in the middle. That’s where you’ll find O’Neill, a rare six-rotation middle blocker who can rack up any stat imaginable. O’Neill’s four kills per set last season told only part of her story, as she was a key cog in the back row and was not afraid to step back in serve receive.
