This MVP ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”] 16 Blue team out of the Milwaukee area has been fun to track the past couple of seasons.  They are typically in the hunt for a high gold bracket finish.  Mikayla Martin Mikayla Martin 5'10" | S/RS New Berlin West | 2028 State WI is a key player for this team where she runs the show as a setter.  She gets her feet to the ball and has fast hands to feed her middles to push to the pins.  She can also defend her position well and has positive on court intangibles.  Will be fun to watch Martin and her squad represent Wisconsin this weekend! 

Mikayla is such a savvy setter. She has a quick, clean touch and moves very fast across the court. Mikayla keeps all of her hitters involved but isn’t afraid to feed her hot hitter. Her high-level court vision and quick tempo sets mean she can outpace many opponents and keep the offense moving at a quick clip. I have been so impressed with Mikayla and her court management and leadership this season.

Mikayla Martin Mikayla Martin 5'10" | S/RS New Berlin West | 2028 State WI of MVP ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”] 15 Blue Smack is a “YES” when it comes to getting her to a camp this summer.  From her footwork, hands, athleticism, physicality, and intangibles – she has plenty of tools that it takes to be a next level setter.  Put her anywhere on the court and positive things are going to happen.  This MVP ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”] 15 Blue team is among the top 15s teams in the Badger Region. They finished 5th in the Open Division and will be a team to watch this spring as they build momentum heading into AAU Nationals in Orlando. 

Martin was a fierce attacker and dynamic setter this weekend. The first time I saw her play, she was mostly attacking from the right side pin. She racked up numerous kills going down the line and deep cross. I didn’t even know she was a setter honestly until I saw her on day 2 and discovered that her setting is equally as good as her hitting. Martin has good footwork, moves quickly to get to the ball which ensures her to deliver a clean, consistent set to her attackers. She has also has quite a range on her. She launched several sets out of the pocket that showed her high skill level.

Mikayla is a setter who drew some attention at the Sizzle. She has great form and was named a Top Performer. Mikayla cought my eye pretty early with the way she ran the court. She was gritty and made great plays in game play.
