About Mileena

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My style of gameplay is fast-paced, vocal and team focused. As a libero, I take pride in reading the game, making quick decisions with a “just go” mentality, and keeping the team energized on defense and offense. I think over communication is better than no communication. I never give up on balls and I play with full effort with the idea of, “No balls drop unless a body drops with it”

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a growth-oriented mentality and stay resilient in the face of challenges. For example, when I play volleyball, I focus on learning from my mistakes and tell myself, “You got the next one,” trusting in my training and staying positive. One of my favorite things is cheering with and for my teammates, both on and off the court because it helps me grow with them.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through volleyball, I’ve developed leadership and communication skills, especially as a libero where I lead the back row and help keep the team’s energy up. Over the past 7 years, I learned that good leadership starts with listening, both on and off the court. I want the people I play with to know that I’ll always be there to listen, whether it’s about volleyball or anything else.

Mileena covered the back court from line to line, presented a solid, quiet platform and displayed her passing skill with ease no matter what the coverage required.
