Miriam gives the middle position a veteran presence that looks different from Lynlee’s developing physical upside. She was part of that 14-kill middle performance in the Sweet 16, but her value is also in how seriously she treats the possessions when the ball isn’t set to her.

A good senior middle understands that running a route can matter even when she never receives the ball. Miriam stays involved enough to make the opposing block account for the center of the net, and that gives North Oconee’s pins more room to work. There is positional discipline in that. She doesn’t need to be rewarded on every approach to continue doing the work that creates spacing for somebody else. That’s the type of unselfish front-row behavior that helps an offense stay connected. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga
