About Mya

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Strategic. I always like to think ahead of the different possible outcomes before the serve even crosses the net.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Competitive. I want to win no matter what, and if the team is hard, to push through and still remain calm.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I go to Letters of Love at my school where we make cards to send to children in hospitals bringing words of encouragement.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Perseverance. Whether it's a two set match or a five set thriller, I always come to play until the end, no matter the outcome.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college that pushes me to the best of my abilities while having teammates that support me and bring out the best in me.

Broman caught my attention this past fall when she was getting some great ups as Apple Valley’s defensive specialist. She carries herself as a very confident defender even though she is early in her prep career. I think this intimidates some opposing attackers, and then she follows it by frustrating them by not letting them score.
