About Mya

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a very competitive player, and I play to win and have fun in the process. It's really important to me to play as a team and be close with your teammates. I am a very energetic person, and I love supporting other people.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a very hard worker and very competitive. I am focused, calm, and prepared to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have been part of my school fastpitch softball team as well as the traveling summer softball team. I am also a part of my churches youth group and confirmation class.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have grown my leadership skills to be inclusive of all skill levels and personality types. I lead by example by working hard and focused during every rep. I come to practices and competitions early and prepared. I believe in the philosophy, , “Early is on time, and on time is late.”

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced significant adversity that helped me put life in perspective. Last year I needed to pause my volleyball life to support my family. My grandpa and my brother were undergoing chemotherapy treatments at the same time. We ended up losing my grandpa, but I am happy to say that my brother has a clean bill of health as of a months ago.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am undecided and open to all types of colleges.
