Natalie Venneau has turned being underestimated into a competitive advantage. As a libero for Centennial, she’s noticed that her welcoming presence makes opponents target her early, thinking they’ve found a weak spot, and she uses that misread to her benefit while it also helps her bond quickly with new teammates. Technically, she’s focused on getting comfortable moving to her right side, a key defensive zone she wants to cover more accurately this sophomore season. The more interesting shift is internal: as a self-described perfectionist, she’s working on redefining her target as accuracy rather than perfection, a distinction she’s had to think through deliberately rather than one that came naturally. Her view of leadership has evolved too, from thinking it meant simply keeping people organized to understanding it as something built through full effort and full communication.
