Jaycie Schnake leads with determination, both her own and her team’s, and she takes pride in helping her teammates work through problems on the court. During her freshman year, she’s enjoyed meeting new people and learning to play at a higher level, and her motivation carries a personal note, she gets to play with her sister while her dad coaches the team. A coaching tip about arm swing speed changed her approach at the net, she was told that speed matters more than raw strength, and she’s been swinging faster ever since. Schnake’s goals reach high, a state championship and a Division I college down the road, and she leads her teammates by pushing them toward their highest level and staying in constant conversation with them.

Jaycie is already producing at a varsity level as a freshman. “I am constantly in the top 10 for blocks and hitting percentage in my CIF section. I am also known for my high energy and excited celebrations.”

That energy is intentional, not incidental. “I take on the energy level. When things get tough, I try and create momentum through intensity and fun.” For now, her focus is close to home. “I am playing high school to enjoy my time with my sister and dad,” though she’s already eyeing Division I volleyball down the road.

Outside volleyball, Jaycie is a devoted Christian who enjoys crocheting and bedazzling.

One thing that stood out in the quarterfinal match against San Juan Hills was her well-timed blocking.

Jaycie Schnake named Top Performing Outside Hitter at 7/31/26 SoCal Freshman Showcase, Irvine, Ca.

Jaycie Schnake was one of the premier attackers of the showcase. A true powerhouse outside hitter, she attacked with purpose and intelligence, choosing smart placements instead of relying solely on power. One of her standout weapons was her ability to score out of the back row, demonstrating an effective BIC attack that added another dimension to her offensive game. She covered well after swings, blocked with disciplined technique, and contributed in every phase of the game, including passing, serving, and attacking. Her complete all-around game made her one of the top freshmen in attendance.
