Her best sequence from her recent tournament was not one single dig or highlight play, it was her ability to stay locked into serve receive, read hitters, and continue organizing both the offense and defense even when momentum started to shift.

That kind of emotional maturity extends rallies and keeps defenders effective when matches get tight.

Serve receive has become one of the most reliable parts of her game, but what stands out even more is how she got there. A coach challenged her to write down five bad things and five good things after difficult moments, helping her realize that one mistake never defines an entire match.

That mindset is now showing up in how quickly she resets, how confidently she trusts her reads, and how consistently she helps her team stay organized when pressure builds.

Her game feels steady, self-aware, and increasingly valuable in the longer rallies that often decide matches.

Her control and precision stood out immediately—whether it was free balls, off-speed shots, or hard-driven attacks, she consistently delivered accurate, high-quality passes.

She was relentless in her pursuit of balls off the block, showing great effort and awareness to keep plays alive. Out of system, she remained composed and put up clean, playable balls, giving her team a chance to stay in rhythm. A polished, dependable presence in the back row.

Her willingness to pursue broken plays, paired with consistent defensive positioning and vocal communication, showed an understanding of how to extend rallies and organize the court in real time.

Her growth focus is centered on mental resilience and defensive confidence, particularly maintaining consistency after errors and refining her angles to deliver more playable balls. Coaching feedback is guiding her toward trusting her reads and sustaining communication and energy across longer stretches of play.

Away from competition, Kwaning balances a demanding academic load with leadership roles, maintaining a 3.8+ GPA while contributing through Link Crew and NHS, reflecting discipline and accountability.

Kwaning stood out for her block and tip coverage, floor defense, and ability to manage out-of-system balls. A loud, energetic presence, she consistently brought effort and communication to every rally.

Her next emphasis is improving footwork in serve receive, staying active through the ball rather than getting stuck, a key coaching point she’s focused on applying in practice. Off the court, Kwaning enjoys exploring new places and giving back through volunteering and community clean-up efforts.
