About Paylin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a versatile athlete and Outside Hitter whose attacks are precise and aggressive. I am a good communicator who knows and understands the rotations and who helps and uplifts my teammates. I keep a calm, level head and a positive attitude when I’m on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality can be a little reserved, but I am outgoing when it comes to volleyball. I am a small town farm girl who is a hard worker and who loves to play volleyball. I take the sport, practices and competitions seriously, but also love to have fun with my teammates.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved with Student Council and am my class treasurer, FFA, PATH and Key Club. In FFA, I am a member of the Food Science team and I enjoy participating in other FFA activities whenever my schedule allows. I am a strong student who gets my work done on time and I make the A Honor each semester.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Resilience, perseverance, leadership, communication and teamwork are some of my strongest attributes. One of the most rewarding skills I have developed is working with younger players during camps and practices to help them improve and encouraging them.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The most significant challenge I faced is not starting to play volleyball until my 7th grade fall season. I had to play catch up with all my teammates who had been doing JO for years. In a way, I feel it helped me though, because it taught me to work harder and put in extra time to excel.

What type of college are you looking for?

Right now, I am open to any colleges. I do not have a preference for a large, mid-sized or smaller school. I’d prefer to stay in the Midwest, but am also open to going farther away.
