Waterman was terminating from both pins, and I got pretty excited about a slice down the net she took. She was surprising opponents with a variety of shots, including an off-speed shot or destroying the seam by speeding up her armswing. Waterman has become more effective and consistent throughout the season, and I’m excited to see what she does in Dallas and during the high school season.

Waterman could be the new host of “Tool Time” because she does a great job finding blockers hands and using them, especially out of system or when trapped. She gets the opposing block so flustered that they start over-adjusting, which ends up opening a new opportunity, and then she buries the ball in the split.

Piper impressed me with her discipline. Even late in the tournament I saw, she was doing all of the little things right. She never backed down on a play and was always working for her team. Every time she was on the court she made a positive impact.
