About Preslie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as fast and aggressive. I am explosive when hitting and find crafty ways to put the ball away. During serve receive my goal is to stay composed and have a strong platform to give my setters the best pass possible. When playing defense I stay on my toes so that I am ready for any ball played in my direction.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe my mentality when it comes to volleyball as driven and resilient. I have a strong work ethic on the court, not only during my games but also during practices. I stay calm during high pressure situations so that I can stay focused on the challenge at hand.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a part of my high school's Fellow Christian Athletes (FCA) leadership team, where we lead weekly huddles and share the word of the Lord to other athletes.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

A leadership role in FCA has allowed me to become more confident and engaged in my community. I enjoy teaching and encouraging other athletes how to be their best Christian selves.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A challenge I face daily playing volleyball is being undersized as a front-row player. I am 5'4", but I have not let my height hold me back. Along with 3 club practices a week, I do speed and agility training 2 additional times to increase my vertical and maintain my explosiveness.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a semi-local college with a competitive and community-driven volleyball program. I want to be part of a team with a passionate and positive culture where I can develop my skills and strongly contribute to the team.
