Into early October, Nevada was performing among the top teams in Class 4A. Senior pin Borwick was a major reason why the Cubs saw themselves as prime candidates to reach the state tournament. During the first 88 sets, Borwick ranked third in all of Iowa with 359 kills (.276). Her 206 digs and 29.0 blocks spoke to her ability to affect matches from all around the court. The first three clips on this highlight video have Borwick ending points with impressive swings from each of the three front-row positions, further proving her worth as a versatile volleyballer. It’s surprising more colleges aren’t calling on her already.

We can’t forget about one of Iowa’s most high-profile scorers. Borwick piled up over 400 kills for Nevada this fall, bringing the Cubs to the cusp of a state tournament appearance. Last weekend’s expo showed more of the effortless elevation that made her nearly unstoppable on Iowa’s prep stage. Expect a few more eye-popping moments with IPVA to kick off 2025.

The rising junior is going to be a key piece for the Cubs this season, looking to build off a really strong sophomore campaign where she led the team with over 250 kills.  Borwick is a multisport athlete at Nevada and has also played club for IPVA.  The Cubs were champions of the Heart of Iowa Conference and finished 24-14.  They will be a favorite once again in their conference and always have a strong tournament schedule too.  They will have quite a matchup on September 5 when they head to a tournament at ADM that will feature 2023 state tournament teams in ADM and Norwalk.
