We’re staying on the small-town scene for this one. Blauhorn first landed on our radar as a springy, effective left-side hitter for last year’s Wood River crew. She soared to a triple-digit kill total and showed a knack for chiseling off of high hands. Her work with South Central NE 15 Black has brought much of the same, but Blauhorn brings a lot more to any lineup she joins. 15 Black wasn’t afraid to leverage Blauhorn’s range on the right side, proving she can command attention on either side of the setter. But Blauhorn’s inclusion in this feature also reflects her outstanding defensive work. She amassed three digs per set with Wood River and was a mainstay in the South Central NE backcourt through USAV Nationals. Blauhorn doesn’t have to pile up kills to have a positive influence.

Let’s flip the rotational dial from Part 1 to find another one of South Central NE 15 Black’s leading left-side hitters. Blauhorn answered the call for this year’s small-town 15s crew, finding ways to make a positive impact in any rotation. Her serving rotation was particularly productive at GJNC, churning out critical scoring runs and a cascade of momentum. We caught a glimpse of this during Blauhorn’s first year at Wood River, but the club season has brought a new wrinkle as we ponder the first ranked list for Nebraska’s Class of 2029.

Blauhorn has been one of those do-everything outside hitters we usually see in a South Central NE lineup. She has the ball control skills to be an anchor L2, but Blauhorn can also take over the offense at the L1 spot. This versatility has paid dividends for South Central NE 15 Black, which put up an impressive log of victories at Kansas City’s Show Me Qualifier. Blauhorn promptly added to the narrative at the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament a week later.

Blauhorn soars well beyond her five-foot-five frame, leading to some stunning, highlight-worthy swings. This high-flying freshman was an immediate contributor for Wood River last fall, racking up triple-digit kills and over three digs per set. Blauhorn is a true six-rotation threat whose ball control is just as impactful as her frontcourt swings. Her South Central NE 15 Black squad started its season in the Banzai VBC gym and tallied four victories against regional foes. The small-town underdogs keep producing powerhouse teams.
