About Ruthie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a versatile and consistent player who can contribute on both offense and defense. I'm known for my consistent passing, aggressive hitting, and great sportsmanship towards my teams, coaches, and opponents. My primary goal for my high school season is to improve my hitting percentage and aim for shots better. Ultimately, I’m pushing myself to reach my highest stand point in volleyball.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m often described as a very supportive and trustworthy person. I enjoy making new friends and love learning about other people. I have my off and on days, but I am worthy and committed to proceed my love and adventure in volleyball.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I've received honor roll and fruits of the spirit at church.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I often find myself an avid debater. I like to connect like minds into one and work out problems together to find solutions. I enjoy talking to other people about my perception of things that many disagree with. I'm a very trustworthy person and I'm described as the "therapy" friend, which I consider amazing that people know they can talk to me without feeling like their being ignored.

South Central’s 15s success wasn’t solely engineered by its ball control gems. Hanzel anchored the operation in the middle and was among 15 Black’s most efficient in-system attackers. We’ve been impressed by Hanzel’s willingness to take various tempos in the middle and still find ways to score. She sees opposing hands well and has perfected her technique as a pin-to-pin blocker. Expect Hanzel and her group of rural Nebraska gems to make a little more noise in the Circle City.

Let’s work some rural gems into the discussion. Hanzel was an efficient scorer during her time in the Cedar Bluffs lineup, amassing triple-digit kills in just 48 total sets. The Wildcats found various ways to incorporate Hanzel in the attacking pattern, even if it meant running their middle blocker on the pin. As we pivot to the upcoming club season, Hanzel will take her talents to the next top 15s group at South Central NE. Look out for the Great Plains Region’s newest underdogs.
