About Reese

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’d describe my gameplay style as strategic with a high game IQ. I like to plan my moves carefully, anticipate my opponents’ actions, and adapt on the fly. While I can be aggressive when the situation calls for it, I always keep my overall strategy in mind to maximize my chances of success.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is definitely aggressive and competitive, always pushing myself to excel and outperform. At the same time, I aim to be uplifting, encouraging those around me to improve and enjoy the game as much as I do. Balancing fierce drive with a positive attitude is key for me.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I’m involved in the National Charity League (NCL), where I volunteer with my mom for 35 local Bay Area charities. It’s a rewarding experience that allows me to give back to the community while making a positive impact.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through my involvement with the National Charity League (NCL) and my sports activities, I've developed strong community service skills and leadership qualities. Volleyball has helped me become a people leader. I focus on bringing my teammates together after plays and staying focused on winning. When a teammate is feeling down, I make an effort to uplift them and keep morale high.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I've faced significant challenges, including moving twice—once in 7th grade and again in 10th grade. The moves brought me to first a very different culture and then to a much tougher academic environment where I had to adapt quickly, fit in, and make new friends. Despite these hurdles, I managed to make new friends, adjust academically and learned to be grateful!

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a strong volleyball program where I can compete at a high level and continue to grow as a player. Ideally, the school would also offer a solid academic program and a supportive community to help me balance both athletics and academics.
