Few freshmen have announced themselves at the varsity net as quickly as Reese. The Milton middle already has 36 total blocks, the highest reported total on MaxPreps’ statewide Georgia leaderboard. Milton’s team page also lists her at a .382 hitting percentage, meaning her early impact has not been limited to defense.
What makes Reese especially intriguing is how much middle-blocker development is still ahead of her. Blocking at the varsity level requires processing the setter, tracking attacking options and moving laterally against athletes who are faster and more physical than most freshmen have previously faced. The numbers suggest Reese is already affecting where opponents can comfortably attack.
