About Riley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a high-energy, team-first defender known for grit, court awareness, and communication. A former Junior Olympic sprinter and two-time Defensive Player of the Year, I earned a varsity starting role in Tennessee’s toughest district. I train year-round in indoor and beach, and I’m driven to improve daily.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m competitive, coachable, and team-first. I bring a lot of energy to the court, stay positive, and love competing in big moments. I care about doing things the right way, working hard, and being someone my teammates can trust.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m a strong student with a 4.3 GPA and take academics seriously. I’ve also competed in both indoor and beach volleyball, and earlier in my athletic career I had success in Junior Olympic sprinting.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volleyball has helped me develop leadership, communication, resilience, and teamwork. As a libero/DS, I’ve learned how important it is to lead with energy, communicate constantly, stay composed under pressure, and do the little things that help a team win.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge has been competing up in older age groups and earning opportunities in very competitive environments. That has pushed me to mature quickly, work harder, and prove that I can contribute against strong competition. It has made me tougher mentally and more confident in my game.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can be challenged both academically and athletically. I want a competitive volleyball program, a strong team culture, and a school with excellent academics, especially in healthcare and/or business. I’m most interested in schools in the Southeast with a great campus and a community that feels like the right fit.
