Goes’s hard work with Freeman High School finally culminated in that long-awaited tournament bid. The Falcons rallied around their senior defender in 2024, and Goes responded with team-leading totals in digs and service receptions. She was also among the best ace producers in Class C2 and logged 65 prior to Freeman’s trip to Lincoln. This outstanding season has laid the foundation for a Freeman resurgence.

Goes didn’t take long to become a stock riser in the 2024 season. She had several outstanding showings with Nebraska Juniors 17 Black at the Midwest Power League. The Freeman High School libero knows how to absorb crosscourt heat and has a knack for locating transition digs. 17 Black challenged itself during the late-season qualifier grind, and Goes always elevated her play to meet the competition.

Goes keeps proving her readiness to climb the 2025 rankings. We saw it last fall as Goes put up monster defensive numbers for Freeman High School. The talented libero has carried that dominance into prep venues with Nebraska Juniors, particularly at the most recent Midwest Power League. Small-town liberos have a knack for standing out in club competition, and this is yet another example.

Goes has been a major Class of 2025 stock riser over the past several months. It all started last fall with Freeman High School, where Goes put up massive dig numbers in the contrasting jersey. That has carried into her 2024 stint with Nebraska Juniors, particularly at Power League #2. Goes was impenetrable in the crosscourt while also anchoring the serve receive pattern for Nebraska Juniors 17 Black. This squad figures to be one of Nebraska Juniors’ strongest with Goes leading the defense.

We’ll feature a few players here who were making repeat trips to a Prep Dig Showcase, and Goes is one of those prior participants that we got to see last weekend. The 2025 prospect had an extraordinary junior season with Freeman High School and compiled a career-best 5.6 digs per set in the contrasting jersey. Her performance at the Top 250 Expo reinforced Goes’ natural ability to read opposing attackers and place herself in position to make a play. The 2024 fall season will offer a chance at redemption as Goes and the Falcons look for that elusive state tournament berth.

Freeman was a force in Class D1 this year, and there’s reason to believe that will continue. Goes will be back in the libero jersey after compiling a stunning 5.6 digs per set in her junior season with the Falcons. Narrowly missing out on this year’s D1 tournament should offer even more motivation in 2024, and it’s scary to think what kind of production Goes could have as a senior.

Freeman is not far behind aforementioned Class C2 powerhouses Clarkson/Leigh and Oakland-Craig. Goes has been a significant contributor to the team’s 22-5 mark and makes life considerably easier for the players around her. Any tips or roll shots heading toward the Falcons will go right to Goes, who reads opposing attackers with incredible accuracy. This also allows Freeman to set up its high-powered offense in transition, and the wins have piled up as a result. It could bring Goes and the Falcons to Lincoln.

Freeman is getting plenty of shoutouts on these features, and the talent level is clearly rising for the 19-3 Falcons. Goes locks down the team’s backcourt with nearly five digs per set and even more valuable contributions as a primary passer. We saw signs of Goes’ improvement with Nebraska Juniors this spring. The momentum is still real.
