Yes, she is 6’8 or maybe 6’7 (insert 67 joke lolololol). I was able to see her play live this past fall at the Iowa State tournament where her Grundy Center squad made it to the final four. She had the match winning kill to complete the reverse sweep in the quarterfinals. Her presence is dangerous in the front row, she knows how to throw, swing, and find a deep corner offensively. Defensively, she makes the attackers think twice. Her future at the next level could be on the right side as well. She has the size and the skill, but she also plays with so much passion and is so happy to celebrate with her teammates.

It’s hard to miss Brubaker when scanning the court. The 6-foot-8 junior casts a large shadow. In scouting Brubaker on the club circuit, there’s plenty of athleticism and agility packed into this prospect. She brings a lot more to the table than being tall. Brubaker has taken her game up a notch since the spring. She’d produced 264 kills through her team’s first 30 matches, hitting an incredibly efficient .466. Her 85.0 blocks were among the most in the state, regardless of class. An imposing figure in the middle of the net already, Brubaker has plenty of room to go before reaching her potential. She can improve her skills and is working hard to do so. Brubaker’s ceiling is among the highest in the state.

of Grundy Center. The 6’8 junior has made a huge amount of progress in the past year where she is a dominant force in the middle. She leads her team in kills and blocks where Grundy Center is in a deeply talented conference race that features some of the top small school volleyball in the state. Their two losses on the season have come at the hands of top ranked and defending state champions in Denver. Brubaker plays for CIA out of the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area and could be a steal at the next level.

is a 6’8 middle blocker out of Grundy Center who is making some huge improvements on the court and could be a potential big prospect out of the Class of 2027 in Iowa. I saw her warming up for the Grundy Center 2023 team while she was just a freshman. She didn’t play, but it was definitely something to take note of what this could look like in the future. Being part of a successful program at Grundy Center and for CIA, she will have the training tools to take her game to the next level. This could be an exciting recruiting path that will officially start on June 15.
