Sage is a force in the back row. She gets the job done and is a reliable leader for her team. Sage is quick and athletic yet utilizes clean touches and ball control whenever possible. She is a player who is always working and moving – putting up a great serve receive pass, covering her hitters, defending the back court, and so much more. She can be a frustrating athlete to play against because she finds ways to get in front of the ball. Sage improved from #102 to #93 in the rankings.

Sage has a huge upside as a libero. Her calm and confident demeanor makes her a solid serve receiver. At the same time, she is quick to react and run down balls. Sage is the type of athlete who has everyone’s back, covering her teammates on every play. She is a fun player to watch and an athlete who instills confidence in her teammates. Keep an eye on Sage as she continues to compete at a high level.

Sage Christman was a really key piece to the success of Midwest Penguins 16 Elite who took home the title of 16 Open at the Prep Dig Resolution. Her success as a libero starts with her feet where she is able to get the ball and manipulate her platform to provide a consistent first touch for their team to run a balanced offense. There are multiple weapons on her side of the net where when they can be in system, they are very dangerous.

Christman was showing off a well-controlled dig repeatedly in the opening defensive drills. She also elevated her stock when in the scrimmage portion of the showcase. Christman demonstrated her ability to dig out some tough attackers during the event and pushing them to be better in the process.
