Sailor Rulmyr Sailor Rulmyr 5'9" | S/DS/L Georgetown | 2027 TX , a Class of 2027 setter from Georgetown High School and Texas Fury Volleyball Club , plays the position with a touch and a tempo that Prep Dig scouts have specifically called out as something that shows up every single time she has a chance to make a play. She has the mobility to get to passes off the net and still deliver quality sets in out-of-system situations, which is the skill that separates setters who are great in controlled environments from ones who change the game in adversity. She likes to play fast and she executes that pace consistently rather than forcing it, meaning her hitters always know what tempo to expect which keeps them aggressive and in rhythm throughout the match. Her ability to also function as a defensive specialist and in other back row roles adds a layer of roster value that college staffs appreciate when building lineups. She carries a 4.0 unweighted GPA, making her a recruit who brings as much to the classroom as she does to the court. Sailor is a polished, complete setter prospect who deserves a full and immediate recruiting conversation from programs at every level. Rulmyr sets for the Texas Fury 17 Legacy team that is set to play in the 17 Bid Division. She first stood out as a promising setter a few years ago and has continued to develop her game as she has become more mature and added to her excellent technique. Rulmyr is an intriguing playmaker who uses her ball control and intelligence to keep her team in a strong offensive rhythm regardless of the situation. She also fights very hard for every ball and is an elite back row player who plays defense at a very high level and leads by example with tremendous effort and dedication.

Highlights

Rulmyr sets for the Texas Fury 16 Legacy side that is entered in the 16 Bid division this weekend in Houston. Her touch on the ball is extremely clean and it shows every time she goes up to make plays. Rulmyr likes to play fast, and she does it every time she has a chance, but she’s also extremely mobile, which allows her to get to passes off the net and still deliver good plays to her teammates in out-of-system plays. Also capable of playing as a defensive specialist, she delivers a lot on the backcourt and is also a positive influence on her teammates on the court, playing with great energy and determination.

Sailor is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but is listed on our official Watch List.  She plays volleyball at Georgetown High School and club for the Texas Fury volleyball program.  Miss Rulmyr was a fierce competitor this past weekend who showcased her solid setting form over and over.  Her ability to be pinpoint accurate while jump setting all three locations proved that she is deserving of some looks by coaches at the next level.  I was super impressed with her technique and soft hands as she was able to replicate accurate location time and time again.  Both hands contact the ball and release it with a perfect mirror image of each other and this speaks volumes about her form.  What is very impressive about this young lady is that she is not afraid to play front row if need be and battle at the net while still running fast paced offense.  There were very few times where her footwork wasn’t balanced and that includes out of system plays.  She can really track the ball down and get her feet exactly where they need to be in order to deliver to her attackers.  We will be sure to keep our eye on her as the club season gets underway shortly.  Please help me congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this Expo.
