Last club season, Samantha could be found as a right side on Academy’s top squad in her age group. Her ability to let her size/athleticism combination take over as instinct served her well over the years, all at Academy. Her three-year varsity career had her amass 200+ kills and 100+ blocks, plus a coaching change that never had her break stride. This is a big, looking for an opportunity, that can make positive strides on whatever roster she finds.

6’2” and still available? Yes indeed. Miss Adams is a solid right side with size and strength that would fit best in a program that could use a three rotation big on the right pin. A regular in the open-level of club here in Indiana, she’s accustomed to high level play in high school and club, as well as the training required to be at the open level.

Big and physical, Samantha is a solid three-rotation right side that is a regular problem for opponents. On offense, she hits a high and hard ball to any angle. On defense, she sets a good block with whomever her middle is and takes up a good amount of space with her broad shoulders. She’s played on 1s teams at Academy for some time now, which translates into her being accustomed to open-level play. For a 6’2″ right side to be still available at this time of year is miraculous, as Miss Adams can be a plug-and-play right side for a small school right NOW.

They say that you can’t teach height. Samantha has it in droves, and could be anything from a three-rotation outside to a three-rotation right side at the next level. Her attack touch height is above average for this class, she takes up space on the block, and has a good arm that can terminate when in system. Her high school season last fall was one of the rare down seasons at Carmel, but her club season is moving along just fine, and should earn some more looks because of that size of hers.

A regular at our showcases over the years, Samantha is a big and physical right side that’s done a little bit of everything in the front row for both Carmel and Academy. I’m not sure if she’s at ten feet yet on her attack touch, but if she isn’t, she’s awfully close. Miss Adams is also quite adept at taking up space on the block—the advantage to long arms and broad shoulders. To see her in her element will only last for the next couple of months, and you can’t teach 6’2″.

Big and physical, Samantha is a force to be reckoned with on the right pin. I’ve seen her do some damage in the middle at our past showcases, but her true home is on the right pin. Attacking high and hard, all while being tough to go against when she blocks, makes her a no-doubt recruit for the next level. I don’t think she jumps quite high enough for a Power Four school, but her size alone should grab the attention of a number of mid-majors that need such a player on the right pin.

Big and physical, Miss Adams can be a middle or a right side at the next level. The biggest kid listed today, Samantha uses her broad shoulders and upper body strength to overpower opposing blockers regularly. Another big time athlete from Carmel, she’s really shown her talents at our showcases in the past year, and it’s only a matter of time before she earns that commitment.

Big and physical, Samantha is a solid right side pickup for anyone needing an above-average blocker to go along with a ten foot attacker on the right. We had a chance to re-evaluate Miss Adams at the Top 250 Expo this past weekend, and she was far and away the biggest and best right side we had. You can’t teach 6’2″, and you CERTAINLY can’t teach her instincts.

Big and physical, Samantha was a force on the right side all day on Saturday. Between her blocking, her shot selection and her overall power, Miss Adams has a nice combination of size and agility that are unmatched in both this position and in her graduating class. The kids that comes to these showcases of ours all have one thing in common—they know volleyball and how the game works. A true test of an upper-level player is how they adjust to the brand new teammates around them. Let’s be honest; the average setter doesn’t set the right side consistently. That fact didn’t seem to faze Miss Adams, and she still found ways to terminate.
