A rising sophomore who plays for Gig Harbor during the school season, Karjala has pushed her offensive game to a new level battling for Dakine 15 Surf during the long club season. She will turn the ball left and right around the block, and she is especially dangerous pounding it down wrist away when she is flowing to the right. The defenders move with her, then Karjala will hammer it near the 10 foot line for the kill.

Karjala can turn a ball off a middle attack in transition cross-court to the angle at the 10-foot line. Not many 15U teams have an answer for that shot. The Peninsula freshman is quick and jumps well, it’s easy to see why she is a multi-sport athlete shining on the basketball court during the winter. Dakine is comfortable running any set available for her, Karjala can drop in a soft tip over the top or rip a ball off a high “2”, and is skilled at getting the ball over in a good spot no matter the set location.
