About Samantha

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I have played all round most of my high school career. I have a team first attitude, I am quick to the ball, have a high volleyball IQ, find ways to score against tall blockers ( tip, tool, throw, cross court, line with thunderous power), I have a super aggressive top spin jump serve, my defense is relentless, and I can chase down off court balls and sacrifice my body for the team.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a gold fish mentality, move on to the next point, I like to have fun on and off the court, my teammates are my best friends, we do everything together so we are very close. I am a winner and I will find a way to win. I don’t give up and I don’t quit.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

FFA, church, equestrian world title in keyhole, reserve world title in poles. Club Houston BCS skyline top kill percentage club wide 2023, offensive player of the year 2024, offensive MVP 2025. HS Varsity A&M Consolidated #1 kills 2024, Academic All Disctrict 2024, first team all Disctrict 2024.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I can lead by example our play a supporting role to promote my team or group. I have demonstrated leadership qualities on both my club and high school teams be removing negative destructive players from a huddle during a game. I have championed a less than popular game plan from a coach to my team and encouraged execution of the game plan through my words, but more importantly my actions.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My sophomore year on varsity I was a back up & got very little playing time. I worked very hard in practice & with privates, but didn’t get a chance to show my abilities until the last Disctrict game that year. I came in 3rd set and scored 10 kills in 1.5 sets showcasing my strength to the varsity coach. The next year I started, played all round, never left the court we were 12-0 district.

What type of college are you looking for?

Strong leadership in my coach, a coach that rewards effort and hard work, a team that supports and enjoys playing together, a university with strong moral and ethical values, a place that will continue to challenge me both on and off the court.
