The senior libero was extremely consistent and led Dawson’s back row efforts with incredible efficiency. Thedford covered a lot of ground in serve receive and consistently delivered accurate passes to her setters. The libero also stood out with her quick movement and ball control on the back row, getting to deflected shots and controlling hard-driven swings to generate transition opportunities for the Eagles. One of the team’s leaders, Thedford had a long serving run in set one, which helped her team create the separation win by an incredible 15-point margin, and also did well when she had to set, confidently using her hands to do it.

The senior libero stepped up and led Dawson’s back row with tremendous authority and efficiency. Thedford led her team in passes with ten and was frequently seen calling the shots in serve-receive. Her defense was also excellent as she displayed great agility and ball control to keep it off the floor, registering a team-high 23 digs. Thedford also did a great job every time she had to set in transition, showing confidence to use her hands and deliver the ball into accurate locations, even when she wasn’t facing the target.

Thedford and her Dawson teammates will make the trip to Katy Taylor HS, where they will meet Cy-Fair, Alief Taylor and Katy Taylor. One of the best liberos in the state, she’s one of the few players in the position who can be a game-changer on the court. Thedford’s incredible defensive game makes it very difficult for opponents to score on her. She’s not only highly technical and intelligent, but also plays with tremendous grit and determination. Thedford is also very disciplined and doesn’t miss a step when it comes to covering her hitters.

Jenna is currently ranked as the 69^th best overall prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays volleyball at Dawson High School and plays club for the Houston Skyline volleyball program.  The way that Miss Thedford commanded the court in the back row was phenomenal.  In serve receive she is fully capable of covering twenty feet by herself if need be.  That is how fast her footwork is while tracking the ball.  The way that she is able to contort her body when the ball is served to her left or right is awesome.  She lunges out and is able to create solid angles with her platform all while still falling to her side.  The best part of her doing this is how she is still able to not only create an angle, but absorb the contact of the strong serve and keep it on her side of the court.  That is not an easy thing to do for normal players.  There is no doubt in my mind that this young lady can not only play volleyball at the highest level possible in college, but can change a program.  Her grit and tenacity in pursuing the ball is contagious and also so much fun to watch.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award from us for her play during the tournament.
