Thooft is an All-Conference player who piled up an impressive 351 kills, 276 digs, and 47 aces, thus, she is naturally a player to keep a close eye on this season as her team looks to defend its section title and make another attempt at the state championship. One of the things I like most about Thooft is that she is highly effective on both sides of the ball, being not only a highly effective offensive threat but also a reliable passing and defensive player. Just as importantly, she’s an outstanding leader whose work ethic sets the tone for her teammates, making her one of the most complete players in Class 3A.

Thooft is a smart attacker for RTR and has experience attacking from anywhere on the net. I think I saw her play more middle blocker last year but I’m glad to see her step into a pin hitter role. Thooft does a great job of finding the blocker’s hands and working off them.
