About Sarah
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
Aggressive, not afraid to get dirty. Smaller but quick. Consistent Passer, with ability to get to a lot of balls and keep them in the air. shorter, but has experience hitting and can attack from back row. Strong and aggressive serves. Plays sand as Right and Left side as well.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am a very competitive person. Love to win. Love God and my faith, and love being there with my teammates. Playing with these girls and for them is one of my favorite things about the sport.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am a youth leader at my church for the youth groups. I work with senior leaders at the church to help bring younger kids to the church. I also help talk and serve with them weekly. I was involved in church orchestra (violin) in Middle school, and played piano. I also help tutor younger kids in volleyball.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I mostly have learned how to listen and good communication. The keys to be a leader. Being present in the game, and to lead, sometimes means to show it for your teammates. Lift them up when they are down, light them up if they need some fire. team sports aren't easy, but are so rewarding.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I broke my leg during my 13U Club season and had to take a new position on when I healed.
I have lived in 4 different states already. Changing schools and friends has been hard.
I also lost my best friend to Leukemia when I was 9. I still think of him always.
What type of college are you looking for?
I want to play volleyball, indoor and sand. I would love for a competitive program, where I could play. I love the ocean, so anything closer to the coasts would be great. Texas and the Southeast are probably my number 1 destinations.
