At five kills per set and almost an ace per set against the toughest competition one can schedule, Sarah’s all-around mastery of volleyball is consistently on display in each and every match.

Sarah’s length and all-around play can take over a match, from the attack height with which she touches to behind the base line with an epic serve that scores points on its own. Easily one of the more fun outsides to watch, Sarah’s play is the reason for Carroll remaining in the top spot in 4A early on.

Speaking of rosters that are senior-heavy and D1 ready, Sarah’s place in this preview is cemented by her pure athleticism, high volleyball IQ and relentless nature. A Notre Dame commit, Miss Stegall will be the primary attacker for the Chargers and a key factor in going for that ever-elusive three-peat in the top class in the state. Even IF you can slow her down offensively, Sarah will just go back to the base line and hammer away a few aces from her heavy, hybrid jump serve that’s tough to pass.

Cut from the same cloth as ACC preseason all-conference Morgan Gaerte, Sarah is a long, lean and highly athletic six-rotation outside that has a cannon for an arm and jumps out of the gym. It makes sense that the two look and play similarly, Sarah’s commitment to Notre Dame will keep another high-end Fort Wayne product in the state of Indiana. One big trait that sets Sarah apart? That massive serve of hers. She should be THE major factor for Carroll in repeating this fall.

Explosive and terminal, Sarah is a beast from all parts of the court when attacking, and that includes the baseline. Her club season has already seen multiple successes, including winning the Cincinnati AAU Grand Prix this past weekend an earning an invite to the Triple Crown in Kansas City in the club’s first year in existence. She’s coming from the 4A state champ, and could make them better in the fall, too. The future is VERY bright for this young lady, and she’s only getting stronger in all parts of her game.

Wait, ANOTHER high-end Carroll prospect? These Chargers just reload year after year. Sarah is a D1 six-rotation prospect if there ever was one. She’s a grip-it-and-rip-it server, a thumper from everywhere, and her serve receive is already above average for her size and age. I would not be surprised if she was already at ten feet on her attack touch, if not moreso. She made a lot of defenses look silly trying to block/dig her on Sunday, and as the day wore on, it’s as if she got STRONGER. This is a kid well worth the watch, and should be payed attention to sooner rather than later. I look forward to her progress and maturity.
