About Sasha

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m an aggressive, high-energy middle who thrives on quick transitions, smart blocking, and making hustle plays that shift momentum. I love running fast-tempo offense and competitive game style to keep me and my team locked in.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a competitor at heart and I love high-level challenges, big moments, and going head-to-head with the best. I excel under pressure and bring intensity, focus, and grit every time I step on the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was int he Girl Scouts and I volunteer at the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, CA. I've also volunteered and handed our meals for Thanksgiving with my dad's non-profit organization. I've also played the Viola for the past six years and perform with the Berkeley High Orchestra and I love cooking, especially savory dishes and baking. I'm also typically reding two books at a time.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed leadership by staying vocal on the court and supporting my teammates through tough moments. Playing middle has taught me the value of communication, quick decision-making, and trust. Off the court, I volunteer at my club coaching the Junior Jumpers volleyball players, helping younger players build confidence and fundamentals.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I spent my 14s season at Absolute pushing myself to learn the fundamentals of the middle blocker & getting way out of my comfort zone. I was inconsistent yet had some major highlights that first season. I helped us get an Open division bid at 2024 PNQ with a .750 hitting percentage, and we won Gold in 2024 NCVA league finals after I played the final two sets against our rival Vision Volleyball.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a competitive college with high academic standards, strong athletic support, supportive fans, and great facilities. I want a program that will challenge me on the court and in the classroom, with coaches and staff who truly invest in their athletes. It’s important to me that I graduate prepared to continue playing volleyball, as well as for my career after volleyball.
