About Serenity

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I love back row!! I’ve been playing volleyball since 7th grade at Longfellow Middle School. And since then I’ve fell in love with the sport and the game and friends I’ve made with it. Typically I love diving and love to run all over the court because I’m eager to get a ball up for my setter. With front row it was pretty scary, but I got a couple of attacks in!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

When it comes to volleyball I’m very determined. Even if my team and I are down by a lot I’ll still try to swoop them off their feet and give them hope that we can win the game, it’s all about the fun.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m not in any clubs just yet!! Only High School Volleyball.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve mostly developed in teamwork. Mainly because of getting used to playing in high school team with new faces and learning how everyone else plays is very important.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes! Being in front row and being an all around player for my first volleyball season for 9th Grade was a challenge! Learning how to block and how aware you have to be at the net. And with my height I didn’t believe in myself but my coach, Emma Sapiro did. She put me front row and all around. I ended up getting onto the JV2 team for Wauwatosa East. But I was cut from sophomore tryouts.
