About Shelby

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I practice strong court awareness and the ability to run a fast-paced offense while staying composed under pressure. I am consistent with hittable balls to all pin positions and adjusts well during broken plays. Vocal leader on the court who can communicate with hitters and keep teammates organized in transition. Quick hands, strong defensive effort, and high volleyball IQ, enables smart game play

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Competitive and vocal leader with a high-energy mentality who brings intensity and confidence to every play. Hustles relentlessly, stays composed under pressure, and pushes teammates to compete at a higher level. Team-first player with strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the determination to outwork opponents every match.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Developed strong leadership and teamwork skills through volleyball by learning how to communicate effectively, encourage teammates, and stay composed during pressure situations. Very strong work ethic, accountability, and determination while balancing athletics and responsibilities outside of sports. Known for being supportive, and willing to hustle for every play while staying positive.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Some challenges I’ve faced is when the energy drops or communication stalls it can shift momentum to the other team during a set. These experiences have taught me to play with intensity from the first point to the last while encouraging focus during broken plays and help reset team mentality.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a competitive volleyball program, strong team culture, and coaches who invest in player development both on and off the court. I want a school where I can contribute, continue improving my skills, and balance athletics with academics. I’m open to all opportunities if it’s the right fit for me as a player and person.
