About Skye
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
Skye's playing style could be described as persistent, calm, technical, and advanced. She plays with determination and will to get every ball, but also uses advanced skills that were acquired from high level playing experience after an open level club team and varsity as a freshman.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
Skye works hard to maintain a positive mindset. She thrives in competitive environments and exhibits discipline through her training, but also works to foster a safe space for her team on the court.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Along with playing high level volleyball, Skye has also achieved success academically. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA since 6th grade while also taking advanced courses, such as high school math classes starting in 7th grade. At her middle school, she made the competitive debate team for three straight years and was named a captain, calling for her leadership abilities.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Through high level academic and volleyball experiences, Skye has developed discipline, leadership, and the ability to persist. At the pool she is a member of, she single-handedly organized a food drive, which turned out to be massively successful.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Over the years, Skye has worked on maintaining an anxiety disorder on and off the court. Having anxiety has taught her how to push herself while still also having a healthy mindset.
What type of college are you looking for?
Skye would like to attend a college with a strong athletics program, alongside a strong academic program for journalism.
