Expert Analysis
Guilherme Torres | Prep Dig Scout
A State Tournament finalist with Tompkins, Skrabanek transferred to Randle this season and made a massive impact in the program. She heavily influences the Lions’ play with her all-around game and that was also the case against Foster as she was very active on both sides of the ball. Skrabanek is easily Randle’s best hitter and because of that, she gets set a lot, getting the ball on the left, the right and even the middle and the backcourt. She faced a team that clearly game-planned for her and still managed to have a good success rate with her swings. Her play helped Randle have good moments and push a really strong Foster team.

Skrabanek displayed excellent offensive variation, hitting quite a few different sets and registering seven kills. She was pretty efficient with the traditional wide set at the pin, but also scored at a very good rate when hitting a quicker set, more toward the middle. Skrabanek was also solid with her serve-receive (12 passes) and defense (eight digs) and caused problems to Clear Creek’s serve-receive system with her topspin jump serve, especially in a long serving run she had on set two.

An excellent all-around player, Skrabanek also stands out on the sand and is set to play beach volleyball for FSU. She’s a player that checks all the boxes as while she has the size and power to dominate at the net, she’s also very technical and thrives on the backcourt. Offensively, Skrabanek is at her best when she uses her excellent range to overcome opposing blockers and hit the ball towards the end line. She’s also very good at finding unlikely angles without losing power and can be a lethal server when she gets it going.

The long and athletic Tompkins prospect was really difficult to stop and deservedly earned the tournament’s Most Valuable Hitter award. The 6’1″ Skrabanek used her length and offensive power to perfection, often hitting the ball towards the end line in a location that would be impossible for blockers or defenders to do something about it. Also an excellent server, she ended the tournament with 52 kills, eighth aces, nine blocks, 59 digs and 65 passes.
