About Skylar

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a competitive and disciplined volleyball player who focuses on playing smart, fast, and consistent. My game play style emphasizes strong communication, reading the court, and making quick adjustments to keep my team in control of the match. I bring energy and intensity to ever rally. Coaches can count on me to stay composed under pressure and always give full effort o help my team succeed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm a positive, hardworking, and coachable athlete who values teamwork and leadership on and off the court. I take pride in bringing energy, encouragement, and focus to every practice and game. My mindset is growth oriented, and i"m always looking for ways to improve while helping my teammates do the same.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Growing up i've always had leadership opportunities and have thrived through my life every time. My junior year I made team captain of my High school volleyball team, Middle school I got selected out of the whole school to become a part of the hope squad which is a group of 5 kids who were kids other students could look up to and really focused on mental health awareness.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Growing up I've always struggled with school and the difficulties of learning as fast as other kids my age. I grew up not reading at the same level as kids I know or finishing tests at the same or not even reading as well as others. But throughout my highschool years each semester there's a little bit of growth of my grades and it really shows my growth as a person and student.
