About Sloane

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a very smart and energetic player. I tend to uplift my teammates and bring a good attitude to the court. I am very athletic so I am able to move fast and be very reactive. Passing and serve recieving is my best strengths but I have a first strong arm and good hit as well.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very competitive player that takes the game very serious but I also enjoy having fun with my teammates. I tend to take a leadership position in groups and enjoy keeping the energy high during games. I am very coachable and encourage and respond to feedback well.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I got camper of the week at IMG volleyball camp. I received an outstanding philanthropic work award for National Charity League. I made honor roll at school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a natural leader and have taken on leadership positions with my involvement at National Charity League where I am a member. I am in charge of philanthropy for the goup. I also started the Clean Beauty club at Harvard Westlake that works with Beuty Bus to help children undergoing severe medical treatments such as cancer care get pampered to help them feel beautiful and get some pampering.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I was on a top national club team as a soccer player for many years. I tried to continue to play at the natonal level with soccer and still play on a 1s club team for volleyball. It was very challenging to maintain both schedules. While I enjoyed both sports, I really love volleyball and decided last year to make it my sole focus and I quit soccer.

What type of college are you looking for?

High academics with Division 1 volleyball
