Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am explosive but also use smart shots because I am an undersized hitter. I am calm in serve receive and pushing myself to get better in defense. Since I am a 6-rotation outside that is trying to be a ds/libero in college, whenever I am in backrow I always keep in mind my defensive/serve receive goals and try to push myself to get better. I always try to better the ball.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am a strong leader and very verbal. I am very strong mentally and know that I need to move on immediately after I or my teammates make a mistake. I am very positive and uplifting with my teammates but I am not afraid to hold people accountable because that will push everyone one step further. I bring the energy and communication to fuel my teammates.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I was one of the students that received student of the year in 8th grade. I was also elected to be the one of the editors for my schools yearbook for my upcoming junior year.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I am a very strong leader that is always trying to put my team before me. I always tell my others hitters what spots are open or I tell my libero where the setter is most likely to dump and when she is going to. I am always trying to be there for my teammates whether we are on the court or off the court.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
When I was younger for about three years, my dad would fly down to Key West every other week to build roofs for people down there after a big hurricane hit. My mom was a teacher and in the middle of getting her masters, my brothers and I had more responsibilities at the house when my dad was gone. I would start dinner or do chores so my mom wouldn't have to. It taught me to be independent.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a big college that is the top in their conference. Ideally I want to play at the D1 level. Even if that means that I wont get a lot of playing time, I want something that is going to get me out of my comfort zone and make me work for my spot. I want a program that feels like family and looks out for each other. I want to put my all into a program to better myself and the team.
