About Stella

What's your biggest strength as a player, and how does it show up in games?

My biggest strengths as a player are having determination, being coachable, and providing an uplifting environment to the team as a whole. These aspects show up in a game by providing contrast in my abilities as a middle blocker to open up more offensive opportunities for our team, especially when we are in a tough spot. However, these aspects do not only appear in games but also in practices.

What are you working to improve right now?

I am working to improve loading my legs when blocking and hitting along with having more quickness and control. I am going to achieve these by breaking down form, figuring out what works best for me as a hitter and communicating that with my setter.

What are you looking for in a college program?

I am looking for a college program that is welcoming, determined, supportive, engaged, and willing to be coached. For academics, I am looking for a strong Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing program that will provide me with a stable ground in order to get me one step closer to pursuing my dream occupation as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.

Outside of your sport, what should coaches know about you?

Outside of my sport I have many characteristics that make me stand out as a person. For my personality I am very driven, passionate, supportive, exuberant, welcoming, and open. For my personal hobbies I love to lift weights especially with my dad who is a professional power lifter, I am highly passionate about learning Spanish with a goal of becoming bilingual to help communicate with patients.

What do you want to study, and what career interests you?

For my future, I am determined to become a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. This is my favorite question people ask me because I am so passionate about women’s health, if I could write more I would. But to shorten it up, I will achieve this goal by obtaining a BSN, becoming a Registered Nurse, followed by acquiring a MSN specialized in Women’s Health, and lastly becoming a board certified WHNP.

She did an impressive job getting them over the net on the block and taking away space instead of letting the hitter see an easy seam. Even when she didn’t get the stuff, she created touches that gave the defense behind her another chance. Roth also stayed disciplined in her movement and didn’t constantly guess where the set was headed. That patience helped her get into better blocking positions. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas
