Swenson has been a familiar name in Dinkytown.  Stella was a fast pick-up for the Gophers with her height, athleticism, and competitive fire.  Her prep career included accolades such as the AVCA Phenom watchlist, JVA All-National Team, JVA Watchlist, Class AAAA All-State, Class AAAA All Tournament Team, 17 Open All-Tournament Team, and Ms. Baden Award.  She’s been a constant playing up an age with Minnesota Select and also training with USAV Spring Training Roster for the U18/19.  Swenson is also 4x Class AAAA State Champion.  Personally, I can’t wait to see her connect with the likes of McKenna Wucherer.

Swenson along with her sister, Olivia, not only play at Wayzata together but they will also head to University of Minnesota together in 2024.    They have a love and passion for the game which is evident in their play.  Stella is not only offensive but an active defender as well.  She consistently jump sets and varies distribution of the ball making her hard to predict.

Swenson is not only the #1 setter she is also the #1 2024 in Minnesota.  It’s no surprise she’s garnered a plethora of honors in 2022 including AVCA Phenom Watchlist, JVA All-National Team, JVA Watchlist, 17 Open All-Tournament Team, Class AAAA All-State Team, and Class AAAA State All-Tournament Team.  Swenson also attending the USAV U18/U19 Spring Training Roster, led Wayzata to another Class AAAA State Champion, and made her verbal commitment to play for the Gophers.  She runs the offense and is a natural floor general.  Swenson understands the plays and how combination sets impact the offensive system to help her team score.
