Let’s revisit Iowa One’s stellar lefty opposite. Like many of the aforementioned players on this feature, Schneider earned a shoutout on our pin feature after Iowa One’s impressive Saturday run in Davenport. 17U Aly frequently leveraged their southpaw terminator en route to a 4-2 overall mark at the Quad Cities Quest. Even while playing against several Iowa Select powerhouses, Schneider rose to prominence.

We couldn’t leave out this lefty opposite. Iowa One 17U Aly’s strong Saturday outing would not have been possible without its southpaw shot-caller. Schneider boasts a gnarly crosscourt shot that always find seams along the tape. She can also adapt to various tempos behind the setter, whether it’s in transition or in first-ball situations. Simply put, Iowa One will find ways to take advantage of its three-hitter rotations.

I have watched Schneider play a few times this year and she always gets it done. A “go to” attacker for her team, Schneider is a versatile terminating machine that reads the block in front of her well. She also has a great vertical that propels her up and over the block, time and time again. Her cross court shot is lethal, but her shot down the line tends to be really hard for teams to handle.

Iowa One out of the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area has plenty of small school talent who play at a high level.  Taylor Schneider Taylor Schneider 5'11" | RS/OH/OH State IA is a 2027 who is going to be on the rise in Iowa.  She’s right around six feet tall, long wing span, and high contact point.  She’s a left handed right side who poses a big matchup problem for the other side of the net.  This Iowa One squad had great success at the Minnesota Slam in January finishing as the 16s runner up.  I would think they would be a threat this weekend at Madness in Miltown. 

I was able to see Taylor Schneider Taylor Schneider 5'11" | RS/OH/OH State IA play for Iowa One this past January when they were at the Prep Dig Minnesota Slam in Rochester where her team finished second overall in the 16s Division.  Schneider is a left handed right side attacker who is extremely effective.  She was a key part to the success of Wapsie Valley this past fall and will have a bigger role as a junior.  She can hit the hard angle and also knows when to mix in an offspeed spot, making her a tough match up to defend. 

If I’m coaching, I would have a problem defending a player like Taylor Schneider Taylor Schneider 5'11" | RS/OH/OH State IA .  The 5’10 sophomore has quite the wingspan on the right side where she has a high contact point and terminal swing. And she’s a lefty.  Her performance was key in the Iowa One 16s run to the championship match where they have gritty defense and a balanced attack.  Schneider preps at Wapsie Valley High School where she had a big sophomore season with nearly 200 kills.  I’m looking forward to seeing the progress of Schneider and her squad where they will be bound to have big junior seasons for their high school teams. 

This girl has a hammer for an arm. Taylor is a 6 rotation lefty opposite that caught my attention early on Day 2. She is extremely quick, transitions well, and unloads at a very high point of contact. She also knows how to use the blockers to her advantage. She can often be seen scoring points by powering the ball off the block and through it.
