Jaynes of Northfield and MN Select had quite a season last year. She led Northfield to some pretty big upsets against top ranked teams and then made a club change from Northern Lights to MN Select. This set her up in a position to run a 5-1 and increase the number of touches on the ball as well as work on her setter attack. She had some big weapons including

Jaynes uses all her attackers while also having a great connection with her middle blockers in particular. After she establishes the middle she moves the ball quickly to the outside pins and lets them show off their athleticism. Jaynes consistently jump sets and holds the opposing block’s attention with really deceptive setter dumps at just the right time.

Jaynes commands the net on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. She can run an offense and knows just when to place the setter dump to take a team out of sync. Jaynes really seems to be more and more confident each time I see her play and her control of the court has improved along with the confidence. She is a highly athletic 6’0 that could be a highly sought after prospect in June. Jaynes was quick to create some good connections with the hitters on her courts.
