Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
We’ve already had plenty of shoutouts for Grand Island Northwest’s strong, balanced 2024 lineup. That picture isn’t complete without Scheer, a hard-hitting pin hitter who carries a lot of momentum from this spring’s club season. The VCNebraska standout is generating nearly two kills per set with the Vikings and has become one of the state’s most productive pin blockers. Scheer has 0.8 blocks per set to her credit and will continue to fortify her team’s exceptional net defense.

VCNebraska 16 Elite has a ton of geographical reach on its roster. Scheer hails from Grand Island Northwest High School and makes the trek to compete with VCN on the club side. It’s a worthy move, especially with Scheer finding her groove at a couple of different positions. She has an extensive background as a right-side hitter but has also seen success on the left in recent weeks. That new wrinkle was a catalyst for 16 Elite’s podium finish at the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament, and we’re anxious to see what GJNC offers for this central Nebraska star.

VCNebraska is pulling in some of Grand Island’s most dynamic athletes, and Scheer certainly belongs in that conversation. The GI Northwest prep athlete gets plenty of attacking volume on the right side with VCN 16 Elite and makes the most of those opportunities. Scheer is never afraid to put some pace on the ball in out-of-system situations. This aggression has allowed her to terminate on some wild scramble plays, which is a game-changer in close contests.

Of course, we have so many more talented 2026s to address with the 16s. We’ll start with Scheer, who has also displayed her multi-pin flexibility with VCNebraska . Her quick arm was lethal on crosscourt swings last weekend, giving VCN 16 Elite a worthy scoring weapon in any situation. The GINW product adds to a fascinating small-town theme with this team, as we’ll see with our next featured player.

We’ll close things out by going full circle with VCNebraska 15 Elite. Before this year’s club season, however, Scheer made a splash on the prep side with Grand Island Northwest. This perennial contender got some solid reps from its freshman opposite, and the same can be said of Scheer’s work with VCN.

Scheer hops all the way over from Grand Island Northwest to compete with VCNebraska 15 Elite. It’s a worthwhile move, too, as Scheer brings an extra shot of physicality to the right pin that will have VCN in the Open bid hunt this spring.
