Smith is off to a hot start as she begins her varsity career at Albany. The freshman opposite/setter has primarily been used as an attacker so far, and she is making the most of those opportunities. Smith has a solid vertical, a big swing, and the ability to unload on the ball even when she doesn’t have the time or space for a full transition. She is currently averaging 1.4 kills and an impressive 1.3 blocks per set, showing that she can make an impact on both sides of the net. With her athleticism and versatility, Smith is already making her presence felt early in her freshman season.
