Laney played for the AP 15 Adidas team that took second place in the event with our wins and two losses. She rolled her ankle in the team’s first match, but did enough when she was on the court to earn her place on this list. Also capable of playing on the right, she demonstrated great offensive potential, combining a heavy right arm and excellent vision, which allowed her to make good choices with her swings. Laney’s overall game was very clean and consistent and she also did well with her passing, handling the serves that went her way efficiently.

Laney was another player who filled different positions and showed great ability to adapt and deliver what was needed. She was primarily an outside hitter, but also stepped up to play middle and left some court coaches wondering if that wasn’t her original position because of how well she performed. Laney used her length very well at the net and proved to be an interesting two-way player, offering a lot offensively and also contributing with her blocking. She also handled well the serves that went her way.

Miss Laney is currently an unranked prospect in the 2029 class according to our Texas State Rankings but that is only because we have not released them yet.  She plays volleyball at Wimberley High School and also for the Austin Performance volleyball club.  We all marveled at the athleticism and speed of the bouncy left side throughout the entire showcase.  The way she moved around the court and got up and off of the ground was elite to say the least.  Because of her amazing athleticism, every coach who interacted with her nominated her for this award.  Her attacks were extremely electric and she scored quite a few impressive attacks against each team that she went up against.  Due to her all-around ball control being a six-rotation left side attacker who can score from any location, we will be watching her closely to see where she ranks amongst the state’s best players.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award at our showcase. 

Laney was explosive in every sense as an attacker. She is a gritty hitter and very efficient with her swings. Laney could be a key offensive weapon on any team she is on. She does a great job of finding a way to attack in all 6 rotations.
