About Whitney

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

When I describe my play I would say I’m a reliable and safe player but can also take risks during game depending situations.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality is witty, friendly, and can lighten the mood when needed.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I’m involved in National Junior Honors Society and National Charities League. I’m also a WEB leader for my school( Where Everyone Belongs) which is a leadership position.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Some skills I’ve devolved are flexibility, empathy, and awareness. Through leadership and doing community service I’ve met a variety of people with different personalities and ways of doing things. And through all the work i do i believe it all translates into volleyball somehow.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of my biggest challenges I’ve faced is my mentality in volleyball. In the past I dwelled on every mistake or every missed point. This affected my play severely but this past season with new teammates and new coaches my mindset had a very large shift. I now just think on the next point and what i can do better instead of thinking what i could have done better.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a strong but fun college team. A team i can rely on off and on the court for everything.
