Yanelis Concepcion, setter for MoCo Juniors, makes an impact from the very first serve with a tough, aggressive delivery that helps her team start matches strong. Once the game gets going, she keeps her foot on the gas by running a quick tempo offense that keeps opponents on their heels. Yanelis plays with a defense-first mentality and brings relentless hustle to every rally, consistently working to keep plays alive and put her team in position to succeed. Her energy, pace, and competitive mindset make her a steady force on the court.

Miss Concepcion is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays for Lake Creek High School and also plays for the MoCo Mavs volleyball club.  One of the best aspects about her is how she is able to play in the back row and also set for whatever team she plays for.  The fact that she plays defense like a starting libero can be helpful for any squad she is on.  Not many people understand how difficult it is to play in each of the back row locations.  They are very different from each other and have totally different responsibilities that players must adhere to.  Because Yanelis is capable of understanding all of them tells me that she has a very high volleyball IQ.  Her court coaches saw this from her and nominated her for this award because of it.  After I watched her play, it made complete sense to reward her for every skill that she possesses.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
