Being a backcourt bro isn't always the most glamourous position, but anyone who knows volleyball understands just how valuable they are to a team. At this showcase, there was load of talent in the backcourt. From being fearless defenders to steady serve receivers, these liberos consistently found ways to impact their courts. Below are a few liberos who caught my attention with their hustle and instincts at the USAV Showcase 2.

She brought relentless energy from start to finish, covering the court from end line to end line and never giving up. Her hustle was impossible to miss as she came up with several impressive digs and saves. She plays with grit, determination, and with the mind set of a true defender. She made it difficult for opposing hitters every time the ball came her way.

Avila is a libero with efficient footwork. Her mechanics are clean which allows her to avoid those unnecessary false steps and maker herself more efficient. Combine that with excellent reflexes and fast reactions and you have a libero with a consistent presence in the back row. One of the things that stood out most was her ability to stay on her feet instead of diving last minute for everything. This gave her the ability to make adjustments and extend numerous plays with her quickness and defensive instincts.

Kondel was one of the liberos I really liked at the showcase. She was simply solid in every part of the game, making very few mistakes while consistently making an impact on every play. She handled serve receive with confidence, delivered quality of system sets, and played solid defense throughout the showcase. She has a well rounded skill set and is definitely a libero that coaches should take note of.

Fazio is a libero who brings awesome energy to the court as she was constantly encouraging and communicating with her teammates. Defensively, she anticipates the ball well, covers a lot of ground and consistently puts herself in the right position to make plays. While she is young, I was also impressed with her use of hands in out of system situations, which let her deliver quality sets to the pins for points. Fazio is a libero on the rise and we can't wait to see it all unfold.

Nuno put together a solid performance in both serve receive and defense at the showcase. She stayed low and balanced, allowing her to move efficiently and stay in control throughout plays. One thing that stood out was her ability to remain on her feet, which helped her adjust quickly and not get in the way of her attackers. She was a steady, reliable presence in the back row and one we can't wait to see more of.
