About Zoe
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I’d describe my gameplay style as energetic and positive. I always bring good energy to the court and try to keep my teammates motivated. I’m really focused and determined to help our team work together smoothly. I’m also super committed to improving, constantly looking for ways to get better and work on my skills.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I’d say I’m positive and determined. I’m always open to feedback and will apply whatever the coaches tell me to my game without taking it personally. I stay focused on the next play and don’t let mistakes get to me. After games, I like to reflect on what happened and think about how I can improve for the team. I’m always looking for ways to get better and help us succeed.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am a member of Bulldog Project - a community/school organization that encourages students to be kind to each other and to "See Something, Say Something." This club goes to local elementary schools to do presentations on how to support each other and be a good friend.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I am a problem solver and good at networking. Rather than focusing on a problem, I work to find solutions that are viable to whatever we are doing. I work well with others and have a passion to work with our community to make it a better place.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Some challenges I've faced were because my mom and dad divorced when I was young. I’ve had to deal with everything that came with that. I go back and forth between their houses, and it’s tough sometimes because they both expect different things from me. I’ve learned not to get caught up in their problems and focus on Volleyball and my studies to have something positive to focus on.
What type of college are you looking for?
I’m looking for a college with a strong volleyball program, but I also want a good balance between academics and campus life. I’d love to play volleyball, but I also want to enjoy the whole college experience—making friends, having new experiences, and being part of a community. A school that values both sports and academics is the type of college I am looking for.
