About Zyenna
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I’m a dual-sport athlete whose competitive drive fuels my hustle as a fierce libero/defensive specialist. I pride myself on consistent serve receive, reading setters and hitters early, and delivering strong, reliable passes. I’m composed, fearless, and willing to sacrifice my body to keep plays alive — and I play with passion and energy that elevates my team.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I bring a competitive, disciplined, and team-first mentality to the court. As a dual-sport athlete, I’ve developed resilience, composure under pressure, and a relentless drive to hustle and compete every point. I’m confident yet coachable, bring positive energy and toughness my team can rely on — and when I’m off the court, I’m the loudest and most supportive voice on the sideline.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am also a competitive club soccer player, known for my dual-dominant strike and attacking presence on the field. As a year-round dual-sport athlete, I balance a demanding training, travel, and competition schedule while maintaining a 4.6 GPA in AP/Advanced courses - demonstrating strong discipline, time-management, and a commitment to performing at a high level both academically and athletically
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I’ve developed strong leadership and teamwork skills through serving as a Co-Captain in both volleyball and soccer, leading by example and communicating with my teammates. I also value community service and volunteer with youth soccer programs, community nonprofits, and our local food bank, which has strengthened my work ethic, empathy, and commitment to giving back.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Yes — one of my biggest growth experiences has been learning to adapt my competitive, vocal leadership style to different team personalities. I realized that teammates respond to motivation in different ways, so I’ve worked to balance intensity with empathy and encouragement while still maintaining high standards. This has helped me grow as a more aware, adaptable, and effective leader.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college or university with a strong, supportive campus culture that values teamwork, inclusivity, and diversity. Academically, I am seeking a school that offers a rigorous pre-med track or degree pathways that prepare students for a future in Anesthesiology, with strong mentorship, research, and academic support to help me excel both in the classroom and in my athletic career.
