South Central Nebraska Volleyball Club – based in Aurora – has a long-standing tradition of putting out quality teams filled with small-school standouts from the central part of the state. This season looks to be no exception.

This year’s South Central 18 Black team looks to have all the pieces to put together a standout season. Its backrow should be right there with any 18s team backrow in Nebraska with a pair of all-state liberos in St. Paul’s Bailey Lukasiewicz – a Hastings College recruit – and Blue Hill junior libero Brianna Dannehy, who had 497 digs while helping lead her team to the Class D-1 semifinals.

At setter, South Central 18 Black has Minden all-state setter Leah Boudreau, who helped guide the Whippets to the Class C-1 state tournament with 989 assists and 197 digs. At opposite/right side is Ord 5’11 lefty Susie Vavra, who is headed to two-year college powerhouse Central CC in Columbus.

The rest of the front row is stacked and balanced, led by Hastings recruit Emily Krolokowski of Centura who had 369 kills, 55 blocks and 355 digs for the Centurions this past fall. She is joined by Blue Hill’s Kacey Allen (334 kills, 379 digs) and Nebraska Christian’s Katelynn Halstead (255 kills, 242 digs) along with 5’10 Elly Beaver of Columbus Scotus and 5’11 Grace McDonald (140 kills, 48 blocks) of Centura.

The team is coached by Centura head coach Alison Feeney.
